Meaning of Yoga;  The word ‘Yoga’ is derived from the Sanskrit root Yuj which means ‘to join’ or ‘to unite’. It can be taken as the union of body, mind and soul, and is used in literature as both an end and a means. Ultimately, Yoga symbolizes the ‘unification of personality’ at the highest level. Yoga has been practised for thousands of years, and many different interpretations and styles have been developed, most tend to agree that the ultimate goal of yoga is to achieve liberation from suffering.
